Paddle Pals home and base camp is located 30 minutes south of Sudbury in Estaire on Elbow Lake. Day trips, certification courses, in-house programs, weekend getaways, campfires, swimming, hiking & fishing all available on site. We customize outdoor programs and courses to meet the individual's or group's needs and abilities. Elbow Lake is narrow, 11km long and perfect for canoeing. From our dock, we may access Red Deer Lake, Wanapitei River and the French River.

The Wanapitei River, east of Sudbury, provides the canoeist with the opportunity to do some whitewater along with stretches of calm water. In the autumn, the scenery is outstanding and so is the fishing. One of our favourite routes on this river starts at our base camp, travelling down south along the Wanapitei River to the French River and either pulling out in Hartley Bay or continuing down to Georgian Bay and back up the eastern branch of the French River.
