Paddle Pals implements and follows the National Green Check GPS Certification Program manual, curriculum and testing standards. Know where you are and where you are going at all times using a map, compass and GPS. Understand what grid, map datum, magnetic north, easting, latitude, true north, waypoint, and declination mean.

Paddle Pals Green Check GPS courses are for individuals with an interest in learning or improving their navigation skills. The courses are for those individuals who have purchased or who are intending on purchasing a GPS unit.

GPS Navigation Course
Application of GPS, Map and Compass skills, including the use of UTM and Latitude / Longitude. General skill expectation: Mark a way point, save, retrieve and application to GO TO location with an emphasis on practical exercises with the GPS unit in conjunction with map and compass use. The course ends with the National Certification competency test. Includes: GPS training with an instructor; use of supplied maps, compass and GPS for the day; a GPS manual with DVD; your certification and a light lunch.
